Help, we accidentally got immunised…

I couldn’t do the birdie song right now.
Three pricks in the arm are better than one in the bum.

Or….

Help, we accidentally got immunised…

Diptheria, Tetanus and polio combined. Hepatitis A and Typhoid, my favourite immunisation cocktails, surge through the blood stream in preparation for the trip. Today our planned consultation appointment at the Bingham practice turned unexpectedly into a vaccination visit with an intravenous climax. The piercing intercom beckoned us forward with after our allocated time slot to meet nurse Hyatt. (Piercing became the theme of the visit) Our spent nurse stumbled through our information whilst rubbing her jaded forehead and bloodshot eyes. Hair bedraggled, last patient of the day. As the nurse continued through her slightly underprepared advice, she listed the vaccinations that were available free on the NHS. My attention was drawn to the fact she kept mentioning the word now in terms of delivery of the injections. She rummaged round a fridge in the corner of the room and it became apparent we would be getting done there and then.

I went first, and the first one I didn’t feel. Like some sort of badass, I told Lucy is wash’t that bad. Actually didn’t feel a thing. The second and third came back to avenge their painless fore-bearer (Those vindictive pricks). Lucy received her injections which seemed to get less painful mirroring my experience. Ubaba the nurse (looking like the witch from Spirited Away) asked us if we were ok. I said I was fine and then asked the nurse if she was ok. She said she was fine.

I thought this was really funny. She didn’t.

Greatest hits of Malaria side effects:

Occasional development of irreversible retina damage.

There have also been rare reports of suicidal tendencies.

Difficulty in swallowing, sore or painful tongue or mouth, loss of appetite and soreness and itching of the rectal and/or genital area.

Underdevelopment of teeth?!?!
